Moxxie Essential Bath and Body Care

moxxie 1  You know how when you are pregnant every scent seems to be exaggerated and often times, not in a good way? You know how your skin gets dry and flaky in the Southern California “winter” weather? You know how all this is super annoying when you are already working on little patience? Yeah, me neither. But, let’s just say I did. I may have found an awesome solution.

I like to smell good. I like to feel fresh and clean and like one of those ladies you walk by in the mall and want to sniff again. I know that sounds weird, but I also know you’ve all thought it once or twice! Well, I also like to be healthy and unfortunately too many bath products on the market are packed full of parabens and phthalates, toxic chemicals that can lead to a whole host of problems, not the least of which is disruption to FETAL DEVELOPMENT! Not something you really want to be putting on or in your body ANY time, but especially not when pregnant. SO, despite crazy hormones that made me sweat like a jock on the high school wrestling team, I limited myself to only hippyish, minimally luscious smelling goods whilst the Bug was growing in my belly. That is until I got offered the opportunity to try Moxxie Essential Bath and Body Care. moxxie2

This stuff is good. It’s so, so good! I knew it was going to be a yummy package before I even brought it inside off the porch. The undiluted essential oils that are used to scent these soaps, lotions and scrubs are so perfectly pungent, that as they wafted through the cardboard, even Chuck was eager and impatient to open the box! Plus, these goodies are paraben and phthalate FREE! Yippee!moxxie3

Included in my care package was lavender body cream, citrus blend shower gel, eucalyptus body balm, lavender and rosemary mist, peppermint scrub and an assortment of scrumptious bar soaps. Of course, with my dry, preggo skin, the very first thing I busted out was the body balm stick. How cool! It’s a solid lotion that glides on smooth and soaks in quickly without leaving a film or residue. It felt so good on my hands and I didn’t need to wipe my palms before helping Chuckles button her jeans. This is an important aspect to consider as a mom. It now lives in the diaper bag to soothe these poor hands that get washed 100 times a day!moxxie4

That night, C and I showered as usual and I enjoyed the fact that I could use the same shower gel on her as on myself. She liked feeling like a big girl and I liked the way it lathered better than her baby soaps! After our shower, I gave Chuck her nightly “ssage,” as she calls it, and tested out the body cream. The lavender scent set a relaxing tone for our bedtime routine. And, again, I loved that I could use this natural, plant based, essential oil scented lotion on my tiny girl as well as on myself. moxxie5

I am still trying out the different bar soaps, but so far, the lavender and oatmeal is my favorite! The peppermint scrub would make the perfect stocking stuffer for the discerning lady in your life and the fact that it is solid means that no oily residue will leak out of your thoughtfully wrapped package!

You can find Moxxie Essential Bath and Body Care at select Whole Foods Markets and at the Old Towne Orange Farmers Market on Saturdays from 9am-1pm.
